The Fellowship of the 300: A Book on Centrist Democracy

THE FELLOWHIP OF THE 300: A Book on Centrist Democracy

(By Rhea Mae Cartin)

20thof February 2014 was the most remarkable day for all the Centrist Democrats in the Philippines asThe Fellowship of the 300: A Book on Centrist Democracy was releasedas part of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung 50thAnniversary held at Sofitel, CCP Complex Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City, Philippines.

The Fellowship of the 300: a Book on Centrist Democracy traces the history of the Centrist Philosophy and its embodied Four Pillars of the Centrist Philosophy as well as the founding of the Centrist Democratic Movement (CDM) in the country.

The Centrist Democracy Philosophy in this book is the ideological backdrop to the tale of the battle of Thermopylae where a selected few will be the new breed of Centrist Democrats of the country who are prepared to replicate themselves as leaders. They will undergo a masters training program where they will recruit and train new acolytes, steep in the lore and will be skilled in the usage of the tools of political technocracy. Also, they will undertake a task that will require commitment to a cause, imbued with the same sense of duty and passion for the country. Their primary goal is to help build a Philippines where its citizens can live in dignity and have the opportunity to participate actively in the democratic process, and they are “The Fellowship of the 300”.And the readers of this book are still the 300, a select assemblage of resolute individuals committed to a type of change, a team of politically astute, young professionals, catalysts, and achievers who will have to alter the very fabric of the “political dark age” of the country for the good of the Filipinos.

Lito M. Lorenzana, the author, was one of the prime movers of the Citizens Movement for Federal Philippines (CMFP), founded in 2004. He is also the current Chairman of the Board of the Centrist Democracy Political Institute (CDPI).

Truly, The Fellowship of the 300 is a huge success not only for the author himself but for all the Centrist Democrats as they have now a concrete and effective instrument that will help to invite the committed citizens to become a part in making true the dream of having a Centrist Democratic Future for the Philippines.
